Ever Feel Like This?

Lately it seems that choices have been flying at me, rapid fire, so to say. I wonder if I have this same expression and head tilt.

Actually, have been thinking about choices and how they affect my life. Some choices are a given that you have to make the right one or it's not going to be pretty. Then there are the choices that just don't matter. It's neither of those choices that are on my mind right now. It's most of those choices in the middle causing me some distress. They are the choices that have a profound effect on your life, but are not life threatening. The choices that you make and second guess yourself for years. As I have been thinking about these type of choices, I have started to notice a common theme in what I call the good choices. It's not how easy it has been to live with my choice, it's how my attitude has been about my choice. It's the way I chose to look at the choice I made. If I chose to look for the good or the bad in my choice. Not that I am not suggesting that there are not lessons to learn from every painful situation, but that there is always good and I'm much happier when I look for it.

So.......when faced with a choice that challenges you, how do you make your decision? Please share with me, since I have several big choices to make and could use some help.

i typically just hide my head in the sand until the very act of non-decision becomes the decision.

Since I'm such a great decision maker (not) I just go straight for the Magic 8 Ball or fortune cookie. Have you checked your horror-scope for the day? You know I'm kidding. I think I'm with you in finding the good in the decision you make. Think about the worse case scenario and if it's not going to be the end of the world, you chalk one up for experience. And it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind. ;-)

Waxing philosophical:
I learned a long time ago that...
There are two type of decisions.
1 Those of principle
2 Those of preference.
When there's a principle involved-
CTR
When there's a preference involved-It doesn't really matter except to chose that which suits you most at the time.

Go with your gut feeling, unless it conflicts with what your heart says, well then you are up a creek. Cause your heart is usually what you WANT to do and your gut is what NEEDS be done.

Oh, my life story seems to be choices where there isn't a clear right or wrong answer and inspiration is lacking. It is so easy to second guess and wonder, but I've tried to really believe that as long as I'm prayerful, even if I get no answer, I can assume my choice is a good and fine option unless heaven tells me otherwise. Good luck though. I know so well the anxiety associated with those decisions!

I have been know to get out a piece of paper and write down the good things and the bad thing about each choice. Sometimes it helps me see things more clearly and then the solution presents itself.

great post. thanks for writing about that. i am actually (right before this) contemplating a decision that we made. but we've made the decision, and i need to look at the goods of it and not the bad, inconvenient aspects.

i never actually lived in alabama. my parents and sisters lived in huntsville when i went to college and lived in oklahoma. if you have any specific questions, feel free to email me and i'll search for some answers from my family!

I'm sorry you're faced with such choices all at once. I generally pray. Hard. And then wait.

I hate decisions like that! Normally I just ask my husband ...which sounds kind of all wishy-washy of me but he's really great at making snae, rational decision.
